Happy Victoria Day

From Niren and Associates Immigration lawyers, have a great long weekend and enjoy the fire works.  Canada is not a monarchy but a democracy.

However, we have not forgotten our roots. The Queen is still our head of state, at least in name. Immigrants from around the world settle in Canada from countries where Kings and Queens play a more active, and sometimes, oppressive role in the daily affairs of its citizens. We in Canada are fortunate to have a Constitution and limited form of government that respects and protects our rights as citizens.

So while we still celebrate the Queens’ birthday, we do so knowing that we  enjoy the freedoms and rights that come with a strong democracy. Enjoy the day.
