Happy Thanksgiving to our Immigration clients and friends. We have a lot to be thankful for!

Thanksgiving is a really special holiday in the immigration context.

Our clients, many of whom have come to our shores in hopes of a better life, really understand what being thankful is all about. Some our of clients move to Canada in search of better employment opportunities, a more stable economy and a better place to raise their children. Others come to be reunited with their families who have already made Canada their home.

But there are some who have actually fled their home countries in fear of persecution or violence perpetrated agaist them. For these individuals, “giving thanks” takes on a whole new meaning.

I was interviewed in the Globe and Mail about how my immigration clients typically celebrate the holidays. From my experience, Thanksgiving for them is really taken seriously. We Canadians who where born here can learn something.
